#togetherwecreate with Chloe Julian

Introducing internationally renowned lingerie designer Chloé Julian, who recently launched her new brand Videris, focusing on thoughtful design, ethical materials, and body positivity. Our automated technology provided her team with the perfect fashion photography setup for consistent angles, lighting, and placement. See what Chloé had to say in our latest interview.

“I’ve always wanted to create something for myself and I felt there was space for a more considered lingerie brand; one that combines thoughtful design, ethical and sustainable materials, and mindfulness."

Behind the brand:

Videris founder Chloé Julian’s impressive resume includes head designer for high profile brands Agent Provocateur and Stella McCartney, as well as Vice President of Design for Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty label. Translating to ’you are seen’ in Latin, Videris is a purposeful name for a purposeful lingerie brand. Described as ‘enlightened lingerie’, Videris pieces are made consciously, ethically, and sustainably, and it pushes the idea of a ‘purposeful brand’ further by promoting its wearers to evoke intent for the day ahead, via colour choice.

In celebration of body positivity, Videris has a strict no touch up rule in all its product photography, and they also work with non professional models to encourage a diverse and real vision of beauty. Videris Lingerie launched late last year with a capsule collection of two bras and three briefs in seven hand-selected colour ways, and a luxurious pyjama set in Olive.

We asked Chloe about her experience at Asset Factory:

“Working on the Ghost Mannequin to create clear images was great. The set-up options meant you could get a consistent angle, lighting, and placement every time, and I like the simplicity of the iPad set up, which enables you to see how your image is looking. Capturing colour correctly was critical and we had to adjust the lighting settings a lot, but the ghost mannequin technology made it so simple to do. We had seven colours of each style so the placement feature was helpful; it enabled us to reference a previous image to check the new garment was sitting in the same place on the body each time.

Whilst it might seem that knickers are really simple items to shoot, they’re time-consuming, so I appreciated that the amazing Asset Factory team were on hand and happy to give advice and help throughout. Asset Factory is also set up so that you have everything you need for content creation; tables, tape, steamers, rails, and hangers. It’s an incredibly efficient process from arrival to shooting, and within hours of finishing the team had sent me a file of our images. The resulting product photography gives our customers an accurate depiction for our website, which means that our supporting images can be taken more creatively without having to show every angle clearly.

Mieke was so helpful in arranging my session at Asset Factory! I think we had to re-book about six times due to lockdown restrictions, but she was quick at communicating and re-arranging everything. I’m sure it must have been a challenging time, but she made sure I was booked in the studio as soon as restrictions were lifted – I appreciate that level of flexibility and service.”
